At a time of disruption, uncertainty and opportunity in business, today The 6AM Agency kicked off its Resilience & Rebounds Series, an inspirational one-hour virtual lunch for senior executives from across diverse industry sectors to hear insights and learnings from a respected business leader.
This inaugural session featured one of Australia’s most respected business leaders, John Batistich, who shared a thought-provoking presentation titled 10 Superpowers of Hyper Growth Companies.
Attracting a dozen of our country’s most talented senior executives from diverse industries like financial services, insurance, pet health, healthcare, consumer goods, the environment and food, John shared his insights on the key attributes of the largest companies on our planet. Key insights that he believes businesses of all sizes can learn from.

John closed his session by reflecting on the topic of resilience and the current environment that we all find ourselves in.
He said, “I see that not only do we have a pandemic of COVID, but also, we have a pandemic of rising anxiety, which is a fear of future threats. And I think this will have a deeper and longer impact on our society than COVID.”
For guidance through these challenging times John shared some thoughts on his own lessons during his long career and recommended a couple of books that he believes can help people not get derailed by setbacks and future events. This included American psychologist Martin Seligman, author of positive psychology and resilience, and Angela Duckworth for her work titled Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance.
6AM CEO Gillian Fish remarked in the wrap up that that evidence is clear – ‘the evolution in understanding of audiences needs at this time, from B2C (Business to Consumer) to B2H (Business to Humans) where we get to better understand the hopes, fears and dreams of audiences, is testament to the shift in the way we need to observe, understand and connect with audiences who are seeking not only a transactional relationship with brands but one with deeper meaning, as they seek solice and trust during a time of deep turmoil.
